Lancaster: Stuck In The Stone Ages When It Comes To Winter Weather

Posted on December 2, 2010 at 12:44am 1 Comment

Apparently the Town Of Lancaster isn't familiar with the development of rock salt as a means to combat snow. Great work, jackasses. Blow all of your money on holiday events every two weeks on Central Avenue and ignore the weather. The roads in surrounding areas are clear. Learn how to salt and plow and perhaps your town will thrive and bustle the way that Akron did ten years…

Imbalance Of Power: The Gamestop Insanity Continues

A merry early Christmas, buddy. This went out to my email list, got posted on my web site, and is nestled in as an ongoing discussion on my FB Group. I'm not fucking around any more with this woman. Let's hit her on all fronts, eh?

Big Words Radio Episode XXXXIV: 'Two Rooms At The End Of The World'

Posted on October 26, 2009 at 10:52am 0 Comments

There's an interesting story behind this one...

Initially, I tried to secure comic wunderkinds Mike Carey OR Joe Matt for the show. By some quirk of fate, writer Mike Carey AND artist Peter Gross (Unwritten, Lucifer) agreed to a dual interview. To top it all off, Joe Matt agreed to the next studio show on December 3rd! Here is your synopsis:

Tim,
Perhaps this was all a massive miscommunication, then, and we needed to 'work it out'. Group hugs for all!
Have a great weekend,

Tom, I don't think we really need to agree to disagree. Because I agree with what you just posted on my profile a couple days ago. I do not appreciate the paparazzi and the TMZ-style of "journalism". That is not what I was talking about, not one bit. To me that is not journalism. Journalism is the person who published the story announcing the white house had a hand in leaking the identity of Valerie Plame Wilson. Journalism is the person who tells the story of a man dying of cancer and in need of money to pay for the chemotherapy his insurance company won't cover because the plan doesn't cover such life and death things. Journalism is the person who respectfully tells the story of a plane crash victim through the eyes of the family members who lost them. That stuff is a far cry from TMZ, paparazzi and Inside Edition. There is a major difference between telling a story and invading privacy. I thought someone like you would know that. You do realize that in most situations (plane crash stories aside), those people call or come up to us. We don't just knock on peoples doors or cold call them on the phone.

since you won't allow comments on your blog, I'll write this here. Tom, while your feelings of the journalism community are certainly popular opinions, especially now, I have to disagree with you. Journalism, done right, not only provides facts and figures, but tells stories. Stories other people can find a way to relate to or find something to take away from it all. It's necessary to stick that microphone in someone's face. But at the same time, no one is forcing anyone to talk. They are no hostages. If they don't want to share their stories, they've got every right to walk away. And many do. No one is feeling pressured to speak, and they all get to do it only when they are ready.

Have a very Merry Christmas and may God Bless you and your family.

My Intro and my cat poem:

I had a lot of pet cats that gave me a lot of chuckles
throughout my life.
Frisky,Trouble,Smokey,BATMAN,Fats,Magic,Wilt,Rover,BOB,and
Ice were some of the names of my cats.
I must admit that when GOD created cats, he created a
wonderful animal that gives joy to billions of people
in the world.
Cats are very simple, enthusiastic, fun loving animals
who don't play the silly games that humans do.
Cats don't play clothing games so they don't have to
worry about the
latest trends in the fashion industry.
Cats don't play eye games so they don't have to fool
around with glasses
or contact lenses.
If humans simplified their lives like cats, I think
there be less confused people walking around wearing
glasses.
Cats don't play foot games;so therefore,
cats don't have to worry about forking over a $100 for
a pair of "AIR
JORDANS" in the future.
I learned a lot of lessons from my cats.
I learned what death is when I tried to wake up my cat
named FRISKY
when I thought he was sleeping on the porch.
I learned that the best laid plans of mice and men
sometimes go astray
when my cat named TROUBLE created a big mess when he
tried to climb our Christmas tree in the house.
I learned that cats like meat a lot from my cat named
MAGIC who had a
bad habit of jumping on the kitchen table and making
pieces of ham disappear.
I learned the meaning of the word "JERK" when a
speeding "JERK" hit and
killed my cat named SMOKEY with his CHEVY VAN.
I hope this drug addict "JERK" apologizes for his
cruel act some
day to me.
The biggest cat I owned was called ROVER.
I called him ROVER because he used to fetch small
pieces of paper that I
threw, like a dog does.
Rover was my friendliest cat and he followed me around
my house
like my shadow purring like a boat motor.
My cat ROVER inspired me to write a poem about him.
In summary,I want to honor my cat named ROVER by
reading the
following poem:

My Marvelous Cat Rover

My marvelous cat "Rover" is special,
he puts a smile on my face every time I see him.

All he asks from me is food and a place to sleep.
All he ever needs is love and that I gladly give him.

All the pay I need comes shining through his eyes.
I don't need a rocket scientist to help me figure this
out.

Paul McCartney once said that"Love doesn't come in a
minute,
sometimes love doesn't come at all. All I know is when
I am in it,
it isn't silly, it isn't silly at all."
THE LOVE I HAVE FOR MY CAT "ROVER" ISN'T SILLY!
