Who do you know? (personal references)

  • Rating: No Rating
Hello there!

First and foremost, thanks for taking a look at this. I know it might seem crazy to ask for references through a website but being that I just moved back at the beginning of the year, it seems like as a good a place as any.

I'm looking for a reference for a primary care physician, a salon/beautician for hair cuts and waxing, a nail place (pedi) and a personal training/nutrionalist (dual cert would be best). I'd love to find all of these people in the Lockport area but is not necessary.

Also, I'm currently living with family and will be moving out towards the end of summer. I'm planning on finding an apartment in the Lockport area. Also considering Sanborn or N. Tonwanda. If anyone has any suggestion of where to look ----something in expensive but in a safe area.

Can't help you with the references, but in regards to an apartment are you looking to live an a complex or a duplex?
for your primary care physician, there are 2 offices i recommend, both are UB family medicine offices. one is in amherst on the corner of hopkins and klein, and the other is in tonawanda on sheridan. i've worked with the doctors in both offices and they're all great. the office in amherst has residents (i'm one of them) and students working there, just to forewarn you (some people love residents/students, others really don't). let me know if you're interested and i'll get numbers for you :)
Thanks for the replies. Isaac, I'm not really sure at this point what I'm looking for. It's going to depend on the price tag as to where I live. I would like something in a safe and quiet area. Any suggestions?

Jess, I'd love the numbers for both places. My only concern, would I have one specific doctors? I use to go to this place when I live in Pittsburgh, PA and everytime I went in ...it was someone new. It made me uneasy. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

Anyone else who might have any suggestion, let me know ...you can alway send them to me personally if you don't want to put a message on the board.
Well you probably would be looking at the apartment complex out on Davidson Rd., but stay away from Robinson Rd complexes never heard anything good their any they are extremely small. You can find a good apartment duplex around the hospital area which is a quiet and nice neighborhood. Anything toward the center of the city has become rundown. I would focus my search in the hospital and high school areas if not going for a complex. Hope that helps give you ideas.
Very helpful. Thanks!
excellent! for the amherst office, the number is 688-9641; and for the tonawanda office, it's 835-9800. you'd have you're own specific doctor that you see. the only time you'd see a new face when the med students change rotations, and the supervising doctor isn't always the same at the amherst office (if your doctor is a resident). hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions - the whole resident/med student thing can get confusing :) good luck!
Thanks for the contact info!
